Our Favorite Candles For a Delightfully Cozy, Rainy Afternoon

I was in Williamsburg, New York this past weekend, crashing at a friend’s place and found myself longing for the perfect candle. It was raining all day, the skies were gray, and the apartment was warm and stuffy. It was the most perfect day to light a candle, read a book, play some Billie Holiday, and look out the window dramatically. I typically have an assortment of a dozen candles at my apartment; each with a different scent, feel, and energy. These are my favorites to have throughout the year and in the rainy fall.

Diptyque 34 Boulevard Saint Germain Candle

This scent is Diptyque’s signature for a reason. It is a gorgeous, breathtaking scent. Its notes are amber, patchouli, rose, cinnamon. To me, it smells unisex- perfect for the home. I have the whole family: candles, diffusers, sprays, and perfume. Diptyque candles are superior to most; and, this one is the perfect one to start your Diptyque journey with.

Maison Louis Marie No.04 Bois de Balincourt Candle

I first discovered this candle brand from a Sephora candle sampler set and it was by far my favorite one. It is a very subtle scent, which I love because I like to light my candles for hours.

Anthropologie Handpainted Pumpkin & Sweet Vanilla Glass Pumpkin Candle

Anthropologie Handpainted Pumpkin & Sweet Vanilla Glass Pumpkin Candle

Anthropologie seriously makes some of the best candles on the market at an affordable price. I love this one for its adorable pumpkin glass shape! After burning through it, I plan on making it into a jewelry holder!

Voluspa Forbidden Fig Candle

Voluspa is king of home scents. They are sold everywhere from Sephora to The Container Store. This candle scent in particular is perfect for the fall. It is not too sweet and not too musky. The combination of sweet fig, warm spices, and undertones of florals make a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian Pain d’Spices Candle

From the Maison that has taken the internet by storm with its Baccarat Rouge 540 perfume, the Pain d’Spices candle is a perfect fall/winter candle. The notes of orange, honey, cinnamon and anise create a perfect storm of spices. Some say it smells like a gingerbread house, perfect to transition for the holiday season!

Thanks for reading and I hope that you feel inspired to smell these candles!

XX,

Isabelle
